Director of Bands
Previously in Austin ISD, Mr. Waters was the Director of Bands at Akins High School and Assistant Director at Paredes Middle School where he developed the 6th grade beginning band and middle school concert bands.
Mr. Waters comes our way from El Paso TX, where he attended the University of Texas at El Paso and earned his bachelors degree in Music Education. Mr. Waters’s first teaching appointment was Ranchland Middle School. In 1995, Mr. Waters became an associate band director for Bel Air High School in El Paso. Mr. Waters became the Head Band Director for Bel Air in 1996 and lead Bel Air to its first ever UIL State 5A Marching contests in 2004 and 2006; and its first UIL Sweepstakes in 22 years.
Mr. Waters has been a Presenter at Texas Bandmasters Association Convention and is an active concert band adjudicator. His marching bands have been BOA Southern Region Finalist and Grand Champions at the TOB and ZIA marching festivals. His Wind Ensemble has been a 9-time 5A UIL Sweepstakes recipient, and Mr. Waters’s jazz program grew from one jazz band to five full performing jazz ensembles. While in college, Mr. Waters performed with UTEP’s top wind ensembles, and traveled Europe with UTEP’s top Jazz Band.
Originally from the small, coastal town of Port Lavaca, TX, Ms. Moehnke is a French horn player, and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Throughout her college career, she was active in many ensembles at UT, including the Longhorn Band, the award-winning UT Horn Choir, the Wind Symphony, the Engineering Chamber Orchestra (EChO), Symphonic Band, and Basketball Band. She also served as the chorister of the Mu Theta chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon (a professional music fraternity) for 3 years, during which time she was responsible for arranging music and facilitating fraternity recitals and peformances.
Between college semesters, she marched lead mellophone at the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps (’11-’13) and the Colts DBC (’14), taught brass and visual methods at the Colt Cadets DBC (’15), and has more recently been on brass staff at Genesis DBC. She hopes to continue to stay immersed in the drum corps world while joining the Crockett team so as to bring fresh and modern marching ideas to the Cougar Band.
In her spare time, Ms. Moehnke enjoys watching Netflix, listening to movie scores, and taking her pets Charlie (a 4-lb Yorkie) and Bruce (a 10-lb house cat) on walks around her apartment complex.
Dulce Garcia-Martinez is a product of A.I.S.D. Since graduating from Austin High School, she has worked at Del Valle H.S., Austin H.S., Lockhart H.S. and currently MacCallum H.S. and Crockett H.S. She performed with ATX Winterguard ’10-’15 making finals at WinterGuard International Championships in ’11, ’14 and ’15. Currently, she directs the ATX Winterguard Cadet Guard which consists of middle school aged children in the novice level of WinterGuard Competition.
Outside of the ColorGuard world she is a student at Austin Community College majoring in Kinesiology and a Catering Representative for Schlotzsky’s Deli. During the summers she is a Supervisor for the Operations Department at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels, TX. In her spare time she runs a family business in Paper Flower Arrangements. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and her giant pitbull, Rojo.
Scott Charvet is an active percussionist and educator in Austin, TX. A California native, Scott is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio where he earned a Master of Music degree in instrumental performance.
As a performer, he has worked with several ensembles and organizations, including the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra, Fargo-Moorhead Symphony, Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets. Scott also performs as a soloist and in chamber settings, most frequently with his clarinet and percussion duo, Just Duet, collaborating on programs that combine contemporary music, theatre, and sketch comedy.
As an educator, Scott works with both marching and concert percussion sections as an instructor, arranger, and clinician. Past groups he has worked with include the Cal Poly Mustang Marching Band (2011-2014), Vanguard Winter Percussion in Santa Clara, CA (2012), the Bowling Green State University Falcon Marching Band (2015-2017), and the Bowling Green High School Bobcat Band (2015-2017). Scott also teaches private lessons at the elementary through high school levels.
Outside of music, Scott enjoys watching movies, listening to podcasts, eating pizza, and playing Pokémon Go.
